Miss Pre-Teen United States - 2024

Jenay Han

Jenay Han is honored to have been chosen as Miss Pre-Teen United States - 2024. Driven, confident, optimistic, and passionate, she is eager to make a difference in her community and nationwide in the upcoming year.

Raised in California, the Golden State, Jenay is an 8th grader at Foothill Country Day School. There, she maintains straight As in all subjects, serves as the Student Council Vice President, and is an inducted International Junior Thespian. To grow her community, Jenay partnered with the Franklin Foundation and co-founded her own squash club, La Squash Youth.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing the violin, exploring the realms of history and math, playing squash, and singing songs from Hamilton the Musical. Jenay is thrilled to have the opportunity to promote her platform, SwiftSpeak, to hospitals and patients in need. Her passion for helping others inspired her to create SwiftSpeak with two team members. This app is designed to help those struggling to communicate, such as stroke victims or individuals with conditions like expressive aphasia. Jenay's inspiration came from her grandmother, who passed away from a stroke. Reflecting on stories about her wonderful grandmother, she thought, "Perhaps her outcome would have been different if she had been able to communicate with her doctors." SwiftSpeak utilizes pictures, icons, and a keyboard, enabling patients to communicate their needs to caregivers effectively.

To promote her platform, Jenay competed in the MIT Appathon, winning an award and gaining international publicity. As Miss Preteen United States, she is focused on further developing SwiftSpeak to introduce it to more hospitals and patients worldwide. "Together we can give a voice to those who need it most."
