Miss United States - 2021
Samantha Anderson
Seven of Samantha's 10 years in pageantry have been spent with the United States National Pageants and it has instilled in her a love for her community and serving others. Samantha is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech's class of 2019. After graduating, she attended Loyola University Baltimore and earned her Master's in Education and Montessori Studies. She currently serves as a substitute teacher.
Samantha is the daughter and god-daughter of international pilots, so you might say she was born with wings. When she was 16, she completed her first solo under her parents' instruction and eight short months later her parents were tragically killed in a plane crash. It took some time, but Samantha is back in the cockpit working towards her private pilot's license. She plans to use her year as Miss United States - 2021 to be an advocate for Women in Aviation to carry on her parents' legacy and make a difference in the lives of young pilots, especially those who have faced turbulence in their journey.
Samantha, in true pilot fashion, is an avid traveler having visited 26 countries, 5 continents, and 40 U.S. States. It is no surprise that one of her favorite things is spontaneous trips with her friends, especially ones that involve skiing. She currently resides in Blacksburg, VA where she enjoys supporting her Hokies with her 9 year-old golden-chow, Walter.
